About Writing Resource Inc.

Who is Writing Resource Inc.?

Writing Resource Inc. was formed in 2009 with the grand goal to be one of the best writing resource website for writers, publishers and agents. Some of the content on this website came from my former website, ‘Writester.net’ which ran from 2003 to 2008. It was shut down when a virus hit the website and I thought I lost all the content from the site.

Who is behind Writing Resource Inc.?
Susan M. Hilliard

My one true love has always been writing. Writing started early for me as it does for most people that are in love with the idea of writing. As a teen I started writing short stories. I could fall asleep, dream the stories, wake – make notes, and then go back to sleep again.

In High School I was writing short stories for my English class as class projects. Even more writing in my early 20s of short stories followed this. I submitted my first short story to a lady’s magazine in the 80s whereby receiving my first rejection letter. At that point, I stopped writing for nearly 15 years.

In 2000, I started researching my family history, which took me about a year to finish. It was during this period I once again became interested in writing and fell back in love with writing, reading and history. There is nothing like reading real history, as it’s filled with juicy stories and some of the most interesting people you’d ever want to read about.

Jamestown Brides was started in 2002, which is yet to be completed after writing 13 chapters that year. I hope to finally complete this novel this year, and begin on two others, which I’ve started.

Raised on the west side of Lake Okeechobee in a small town called Moore Haven, can be credited for some of my inspiration in writing. There is nothing like the education, which comes from country living and working.

I have two wonderful son and daughter-in-laws, and four beautiful grand kids. These are the things that make life go around and special.

In this new platform, I would like to help others as well as encourage myself to just write again. If you’d like to send me an email, please feel free to contact me if I can be of any assistance.

    Hello Susan,

You seem like a very passionate writer. And I love that you have this site available as a resource for others! I did want to ask a question where I can find resources to finding topics on how to write a proposal to a publisher, how to write a story synopsis, where to find book editors… do you have any of these articles on your site?

    Thanks,
    Diane

Susan, this is a fantastic website and I’m awed at all the content – and your accomplishments. I can’t wait to read more of your postings. I don’t think I’m using my site to full advantage, partly because my “webmaster” is not easily available. I need to find ways I can manage it by myself.

Again, I’m very impressed and am glad to see you are a fellow Floridian.
